Is Satellite TV A Scam?

I must confess that SatelliteDirect.tv website caught my attention early on with its appealing graphics and video.

However, deep down, I was way sceptical because, seriously, 3500 channels of satellite TV for $49.95 with no ongoing payments?

Personally, I find it too good to be true. But being a perpetual couch potato that I am, I succumbed on and order it anyway. I rationalise that if it doesn’t work out (or truly is a scam), I can just demand my money back under their guarantee.

My verdict? I’ve had no problems with Satellite Direct. To me, you just have to dig into the software and learn how to use it before flying off the deep end and giving up.

Satellite Direct TV, as it turns out, is a nifty little piece of technology that lives up to the sales hype. With no dish, receiver or other hardware required (all you need is hi-speed internet), it just might be, as its maker claims, "The Future of Television"!

I have no complains really but I must say that, from time to time, I had to flip through the channels and sometimes settle for foreign language feeds. No problem.

My sister got it recently and thought she got scammed because it didn’t work well. It turns out that her Internet connection was too slow. So I suggested to her to bump up the speed and today, the software is working perfectly now.

Like I said, I wasn't expecting much. In fact, I half expected absolutely nothing! Yep, that's right. I figured that once they had my money I might not even get a product in return or, if I did, it wouldn't work without some kind of major upgrade to my computer.

So, I was pretty surprised when not only did the Satellite Direct TV software download and install in about a total of 90 seconds but that it ACTUALLY WORKED as soon as I started it up. Yep, I was watching satellite TV on my PC in less than two minutes. No software download problems, no installation problems, no weird error messages. Nothing.

What struck me the most about the capabilites of the product were the following:

* Well, for starters, it actually worked. Maybe that's not impressive for most things that you might buy but, in case I haven't already mentioned it, I was expecting it to be a complete failure.

* Secondly, the variety of the programming blew me away. Not only are there channels from over 100 countries but there are a lots of different types of channels - news, kids shows, movies, sports, educational programming and more. Want to watch a cooking channel for a couple minutes and then flip over to catch a soccer game in Italy or Basketball in the US? Satellite Direct TV's got you covered! Maybe watch a movie and then flip over to see what the weather is like in Hawaii? No problem!

* Finally, I was really impressed with the clarity of the picture and sound. I was expecting the audio to sound like it was being played through a tin can and the video to be slow and choppy. Instead, the video streamed nicely and the sound was rich and crystal clear (which was particularly nice when listening to the included radio stations).
